On 18th December 2019, we celebrated International Migrants Day. In the spirit of being 'the change we want to see in the world’, we brought you Sky, You Are Too Big, our second annual event demonstrating our increasingly rich, diverse and inclusive internationalism.
The event showcased poetry and music of beauty, courage, connection and cultural diversity as we raise each other up, and hold out for better things. Readings were delivered in isiZulu, isiXhosa, Italian and Hungarian in addition to Irish & English.
Poets Maria McManus, Viviana Fiorentino, Csilla Toldy, Nandi Jola & Anesu Khanya Mtowa and musicians Jason O'Rourke and Joe Campbell-McArdle celebrated languages and cultural diversity, difference and the themes of belonging, home, fragility, dispossession, migration.
