3 x two-hour workshop sessions with journalist and author Malachi O’Doherty

Workshop Description

This course will focus on writing from your own life experience. You will discuss the ethics and practicalities of memoir writing and discuss some short samples offering guidelines for creating vivid and meaningful stories from our own lives. Participants will share their work with the group for feedback.

Workshop Dates

This workshop will be hosted in the Marketplace Theatre, Armagh on the following dates. Your £66 fee covers all three workshop sessions.

  • Tuesday 27th 2.45 - 4.45pm
  • Thursday 29th 2.45 - 4.45pm
  • Friday 30th 2.45 - 4.45pm

Tutor

Malachi O’Doherty

Malachi is a journalist, broadcaster, author and facilitator.  He has had several works of memoir published, including I Was A Teenage Catholic (2003) The Telling Year (2008) Under His Roof (2009). He has a PhD in Creative Writing from QUB and his tenth book, The Year of Chaos is due out in September 2021, by Atlantic Books.
