Hodges and Figgis Anthology event

Time: 1.30pm
Venue: Quaker Meeting House
Tickets: Free | book here

Reading the Future is the largest anthology of new Irish writing ever, and contains fiction, poetry, drama, Irish language, crime, young adult and children’s writing by over 250 Irish writers. These writers have sold millions of books and have won many awards, including the Oscar, Booker, BAFTA, Kavanagh, Costa and the Dublin Literary Award. While there has long been a debate on the poor representation of women writers in Irish literature, it is a particular pleasure that in this anthology 55% of the contributors are women – the first time this has ever happened in Irish writing. Including readings by Ruth Carr and Medbh McGuckian.
