Cork-based novelist and short story writer Mary Morrissy joins us to talk about a literary career now spanning three decades. Mary will read from some of her award-winning novels and short story collections, answer your questions and chat to festival curator Jan Carson about her writing process.
Mary Morrissy is the author of three novels, Mother of Pearl, The Pretender and The Rising of Bella Casey and two collections of stories, A Lazy Eye and Prosperity Drive. Mother of Pearl, was shortlisted for the Whitbread Award (now Costa). Her other novels were both nominated for the Dublin Impac International Literary Award. She is Associate Director of Creative Writing at University College Cork and a member of Aosdána.
