Relax with some poetry best served chilled over refreshments in The Hillside a charming, rustic pub which first opened its doors to patrons in 1752. Poetry Ireland Introductions is a programme which hopes to encourage excellence in the writing and performance of poetry in Ireland, by supporting emerging talented poets in the early stages of their careers. Three of the 2018 selected poets will read their work in this informal event with a scheduled short break for guests to refill their glasses at the bar.

Dawn Watson was born in Belfast, and won the 2018 Doolin Writers’ Poetry Award.

Toby Buckley’s work has previously been published in The Open Ear, The Tangerine and HCE Review.

Milena Williamson’s poetry has been included in the Poetry Jukebox installation at Crescent Arts Centre, and in The Tangerine.
